Transmitter is proud to present Hugo Andres, Virginia Ayress, Ana Bick, Daniel Cahuantzi Ramírez, Gabriela Medrano, Pony, Shark_hartlifestile, Semillero Creativo de Artes Escénicas de Tenancingo Tlaxcala., in commemoration of the 70th anniversary of Frida Kahlo’s death. Over the years, Kahlo’s influence has been both an entry point into painting and an iconic reminder of Mexican culture, providing artists worldwide with inspiration culled from Kahlo’s art, persona, and iconography. Her compelling portraits are a mirror offering both self-reflection and contemporary exploitation. 

I am Frida/ Yo Soy Frida, curated in collaboration with Miztl, features the work of eight artists and their reinterpretations of Kahlo’s influence Hugo Andres, Virginia Ayress, Ana Bick, Daniel Cahuantzi Ramírez, Gabriela Medrano, Pony, Shark_hartlifestile, Semillero Creativo de Artes Escénicas de Tenancingo Tlaxcala.
