Family Program: Making Homes for Urban Birds
Design urban habitats for the feathered friends among us! Did you know red-tailed hawks, for example, nest on Fifth Avenue buildings at the edge of Central Park? Learn about bird-friendly designs and create your own model skyscraper. Check out how designers from different regions of the United States and its territories are influenced by their environments in Making Home—Smithsonian Design Triennial. Family drop-in activities are designed for youth ages 5–12 and their adult guardian/caregivers. Family programs are included in the price of museum admission, and youth 18 and under are always free.
