For the Strength of Harlem-Author Book Signing (Meet & Greet)

November 18, 5 pm7 pm.
Free

Come out for a book signing (Meet & Greet) with Author Janell Pearson, “For the Strength of Harlem-Plĕas Tusant Pearson.”  For the Strength of Harlem is a Biography Memoir about Mr. Plĕas Tusant Pearson (pronounced Plĕz), you will learn about another unsung hero, a hidden figure in history, he was a Community Activist and Serial Entrepreneur. For those who are asking, “Who is that man in the middle of Malcolm X and Muhammad Ali in the historic photograph taken by Howard Bingham in 1963?”. He has contributed so much to Harlem, he founded a movement in the ‘60s, two United States Presidents’ sons contacted him for his support; he was one of first black chefs on a major tv show, and Plĕas owned a private limousine service for the Apollo Theatre, he has done so much more for Harlem.

Make no mistake, he was an “unsung hero” not because he was seen in a photograph with these two great men but because of his enduring actions to stand up for Black people during the most challenging times in America.
