Overcoming Your Neck and Back Pain with Author Roberta Bergman at the Great Neck Library

Author Roberta Bergman leads this interactive presentation which includes a discussion about the leading causes of back pain; poor posture, body mechanics, under conditioned muscles, ergonomics, tech neck, prolonged sitting, arthritis and stress. In addition, the differences between acute and chronic back pain will be addressed and how each can be treated.

Roberta demonstrates therapeutic exercise and movement methods highlighting “the Feldenkrais and Alexander Methods” in order to heal painful back and neck conditions. The audience will be invited to share “what triggers their back/neck pain.” Specific solutions will be offered for a variety of problems related to the back and neck. A hand-out of “Chair & Desk-Side Stretches” will be available at the end of the session.

Fitness & wellness expert Roberta Bergman, known as the Leading Lady of Back Wellness, is the author of “Back on Track: The Lifestyle and Exercise Guide on Healing Back Pain”, published by G&D Media. She is the founder of Bodyformula, an integrative health, fitness and wellness program. Roberta is an ACE Certified Fitness Instructor & holds an M.S. in Movement Therapy.

Over the course of her career, Roberta’s message of health and wellness has been featured on a variety of national media: Fox TV, CNN, News 12 New Jersey, NBC, Lifetime and WPIX. She has appeared in lifestyle magazines (Vogue, Golf, Men’s Health, Arthritis Today and Shape.). She was lauded by Shape Magazine as one of the top 10 fitness experts. Most recently, Roberta appeared as a guest on the Todd Ault Podcast and The Better Human podcast.

The event will be at the Great Neck Library, 159 Bayview Avenue, Great Neck, NY on Monday, September 15, at 2:00 p.m. Registration is encouraged but not required. Great Neck cardholders and residents can register online, in-person, or via phone. Non-residents are welcome as walk-ins, as space allows. All registrants will also receive the Zoom link.
